It's the first quiet moment for a while
with the fleeting echo of a smile
Lingering in my memory but fading all the time
as I try to find the strength for another mile

I can see the leaves appearing on the trees
and it feels like something's coming on the breeze
that's blowing through the open door that I have just walked through
blowing me along to something new

and I want to let you know
that it's not easy to let you go
but I'm looking forward to looking back on the things I've left behind
from somewhere a little further down the line
